Meet Shawn McGinnis
Shawn McGinnis is an educator, professional videographer, and craftsman whose creative interests span music, woodworking, 3D printing, and design. A graduate of the University of North Texas, where he earned degrees in music education and music theory, Shawn built the foundation of his career in music and has spent decades combining education with technical and creative work.
For more than 30 years, Shawn has worked in professional videography, capturing performances by choirs, bands, theater groups, and mariachi ensembles throughout North Texas. His background in music gives him a distinctive understanding of live performance, while his expertise in audio and video technology allows him to preserve those performances with both technical precision and artistic sensitivity. Through his work, he has supported generations of students and ensembles as they prepared for performances and earned recognition at regional, state, national, and international levels.
Beyond music and videography, Shawn is a dedicated maker and lifelong learner. His interests in woodworking, 3D printing, musical instruments, and cycling reflect his curiosity, precision, and enjoyment of hands-on creativity. Whether refining a video production, designing a custom object, or shaping a piece of wood, he approaches his work with patience, craftsmanship, and close attention to detail.
Family, faith, animals, and creativity are also important parts of Shawn’s life. He and Phoebe share an appreciation for tradition, thoughtful design, and the enduring value of things made by hand. Sweet Bee Artisan Boards grew from those shared interests, combining Shawn’s craftsmanship with a belief that useful objects can also carry beauty, character, and personal meaning.
